Hi! My name is Maciek,
pronounced like magic, but you can call me Mac.
I’ve been building bespoke software for over two decades. I started as an IT graduate working on the frontier of eLearning in the IT education company. Soon I realised that I can merge my soft skills with hardcore science and interests in psychology, ergonomics, usability, aesthetics and art, so I became an HCI expert.
In last 12 years as a Front-End Architect & Head of Development I helped to grow startups from inception to multi-million dollar businesses.

In 2011 I accepted the challenge to design and implement a user friendly software for Evolved Intelligence, which was a based in Bristol/UK company in the mobile network security space, formed in 2007. I've been instrumental in the transition we made as a startup, helping to secure a dominant position in cyber security space within just 6 years since I was employed and growing the business from few to few hundreds clients.
I was responsible for the choice of tech stack, design and implementation of web based single page applications and my work helped to shape our company's business model, moving from services towards SaaS and a ready-to-use product with a realtime insights to our client’s networks.
The software I designed is based on a long and successful history of solving problems for our clients, using innovative architecture and patented solutions supported by the team of signalling experts. We had a variety of command line tools developed to analyse SS7 signalling and extract irregularities from existing sample of a raw traffic data. Previously the work was done offline and our clients received reports after intensive data crunching which takes some time. Having this level of insights in nearly realtime is a game changing experience for the mobile network operators.
Within last 10 years, using Agile methodology, I designed prototyped and implemented many essential tools for operators who want to increase roaming revenue and maximise system performance outperforming competitors. One of them is Roaming Insight which has a market leading user interface designed to make it quick to identify usage trends signalling threats and performance issues in signalling connections. Roaming Insight’s reports are processed in real-time allowing for immediate issue diagnosis.
Processing many billions of messages every day has given us profound insight into signalling messages, so we can accurately identify and separate unusual but legitimate messages from malicious ones. Understanding and managing SS7 messages in both roaming VAS and banking enabled us to develop and implement another successful award winning application - a Signalling Firewall.
In my experience, the innovative architecture and features of our firewall as well as the advanced analytics and the intuitive user interface at the heart of the system, help operators to effectively manage traffic and rapidly respond to any new threats or suspect patterns of behaviour. This allows our customers to stay one step ahead of the criminals and ensure that their networks stay safe for years to come.
In 2017, independent research by Telecom specialists ROCCO, placed Evolved Intelligence as the market leader for mobile network signalling security firewalls. Please check the press releases to find more details: 3 Nov 201718 Jan 201828 Feb 201829 Oct 201813 Nov 20192 Feb 2020
In 2018, as a Winner of a GLOMO award for The Best Supplier of Mobile Network Security Solutions at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we attracted a major player and secured our future as a part of Mobileum. The acquisition also serves to strengthen Mobileum’s presence in Europe. Mobileum delivers analytics solutions that generate revenues, reduce costs and accelerate digital transformation for more than 600 Communications Service Providers across 150 countries. Mobileum is based in California’s Silicon Valley, with offices in the UK, Argentina, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Jordan, Singapore and Uruguay.
I continue to work on new products and software integration with Mobileum platform and we continue to work closely with organisations such as the GSMA, CFCA and ETIS - helping to develop new standards and shape the future of the Telco industry.

ELECTRO ENGINEERING
I studied in the college to become electro-engineering technician with a licence up to 110kV.
At that time I developed my interests in the computer science and practiced programming logo, basic and assembler, first using ZX Spectrum, than C-64 and Amiga 500. I discovered Deluxe Paint and fell in love with a computer graphics.
I used Amiga 1200 for my thesis - to make a movie about electricity, explaining every step from the power plant to the electric socket at home.

MULTIMEDIA & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Polish-Japanese Institute of IT was the best place to learn Multimedia & AI.
I studied perception using eye tracking, developed skills in 3D scanning, sculpturing, lightning and rendering using Silicon Graphics computers. I designed artificial head to record spacial sounds and algorithms to emulate this in a computer. I also designed visual aid for visually impaired, using neural network, stereo vision and pattern recognition.
My thesis was Multimedia encyclopedia.
